Innovative Home Media, member of DP’s elite 2011 Reference Showroom Dealer group, recently completed a fully 3D-capable high-end demo theater in Baton Rouge, LA. No ordinary theater by any stretch of the imagination, IHM’s demo theater came to fruition while Prather Warren, owner of IHM, was visiting the 2009 CEDIA Expo in Atlanta, Georgia. Knowing that he needed an impressive demo theater to take his business to another level, Warren agreed to purchase most of Triad’s CinemaPlus demo theater as a package once the Expo wrapped. Armed with an 18-wheeler and the assistance of a dozen people working for two days, the demo theater was dismantled piece by piece, loaded into the truck, driven to Louisiana, and reassembled in a brand-new separate wing of Prather’s home.

“Triad Speakers and PMI, Ltd. joint ventured as “CinemaPlus” to construct, on the show floor, a high-performance home theatre,” said PMI, Ltd. acoustic expert Anthony Grimani, who designed the room, “and a team from both companies assembled the theatre. That theatre was not at the 2010 CEDIA Expo, but ended up in home theatre dealer Prather Warren’s home, where he recreated the Expo experience transforming it into a high-end demo home theatre for his clients.”

Terry Hill, GM of PMI, assessed the room by saying, “With the room now finished, it’s one of the best demo environments in the entire custom installation industry.  I believe Prather has built one of the most competent demo rooms in the country and not just in the region,” Hill boasts.  Both Triad and PMI stress that IHM’s system is just one example of what can be done when a scientific approach to system design is combined with top-of-the-line components.  “There is nothing arbitrary about this system,” says Anthony Grimani of PMI, Ltd.  “It approaches perfection.”
